Prendergast Computer Center Sets Spring Classes

JAMESTOWN – Classes on 10 topics have been scheduled to take place in Prendergast Library’s new Public Computer Center next spring.

            Instructors are from Erie-2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES and Jamestown Community College or members of the library staff.

            Classes include:

            Introduction to Computers, an eight-session series starting Jan. 4 or Feb. 2;

            Computers for Beginners, a three-hour course Jan. 11 or March 15;

            Introduction to Microsoft Word, an eight-session series starting Feb. 1;

            Introduction to Word Processing Using Microsoft Word Part 1, a three-hour course available in February, March and April;

            Introduction to Windows, a three-hour class offered Tuesdays in January and March;

            Introduction to PowerPoint, a four-class series in March;

            Introduction to Excel, a six-class series January through March;

            Intermediate Excel, a four-class series in March and April;

            Social networking with Facebook, 90-minute classes in February; and

            Employment workshop, a two-session series offered January through May.

            One-on-one assistance is also available by appointment on resume preparation and interview techniques, social networking and downloadable audio books.

            All instruction is free and open to the public. To register for classes or make an appointment for individual help, call 484-7135, Ext. 225, or stop at the information desk. The library is located at 509 Cherry St.
