Audubon Seeking Sponsors for Summer Events

Jamestown, NY – From stunning gardens to a 5K run/walk to a glorious butterfly festival, Audubon Community Nature Center (ACNC) has something for everyone this summer.

And each of these dynamic events is an opportunity for businesses and individuals to show their community spirit by making financial or in-kind contributions or donating gift certificates.

Sponsors will be recognized in a variety of ways, from listings in the program and on ACNC website and newsletters to receiving complimentary tickets to an Audubon event of their choosing.

Restaurants that will be open on Saturday, July 1, are especially encouraged to sponsor the Secret Gardens Tour. Tour-takers will want to wear their walking shoes to visit six area gardens:  all are stunning -- and some are HUGE. The hours of 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. are extended from previous tours because there is so much to take in, and participants may want to include lunch or supper in their day. Information, including presale ticket discounts, is at auduboncnc.org/gardenstour

On Saturday, July 29, runners and walkers of all ages race through Audubon’s forests and fields and around pond edges in Audubon’s Wild 5K Run/Walk. New this year, the race is part of the 2017 Chautauqua Striders/UPMC Chautauqua WCA Runner of the Year Series. Participants who register by July 17 receive a t-shirt and discounted entry fee. Details and registration are at auduboncnc.org/wild5k.

At the Monarch Butterfly Festival on Saturday, August 26, visitors experience an indoor garden filled with free-flying Monarchs, where they can examine Monarch eggs and hold caterpillars. There is much to do, with kids crafts, great food, photo opportunities with human-sized caterpillar and butterfly cutouts, and more. Scouts and others can even earn a fun patch. Details are at auduboncnc.org/monarchfestival. The evening prior is Monarchs & Margaritas, an adult version of the festival.
