Hotel Owners Turning to Sure Step to Keep Guests and Employees on Their Feet

Hotel Owners Turning to Sure Step to Keep Guests and Employees on Their Feet

Slip-and-fall injuries are a serious concern for all businesses, and the lodging industry is no exception. In fact, think about all the areas in a hotel, motel or bed-and-breakfast that have an increased potential for falls: Lobby floors and uncarpeted walkways, buffet and dining areas, kitchens, around swimming pools and saunas, locker rooms, restrooms. It’s a pretty lengthy list.

To prevent slip-and-fall accidents, more and more businesses, including hotels, are turning to a product called Sure Step, offered locally by Western New York-based Nonslip Safety Solution, to keep guests and employees on their feet. The result: Fewer potential lawsuits and/or missed work days.

Professional Carpet and Floor Cleaning Will Wash Away the Remnants of Summer

Professional Carpet and Floor Cleaning Will Wash Away the Remnants of Summer

The calendar has turned to September and the kids are back in school. For the first time in a long time, the house is going to be empty and quiet for several hours a day. Sounds like a good time to have your carpets and flooring professionally cleaned!

“When you have kids and they have friends over all summer long, your flooring throughout the house can take a real beating,” said Edmund Bedient, owner of Clear Choice Cleaning Services in West Seneca and the father of five active children. “Add a pet or pets into the mix and you’re only adding to the problem. So take advantage of the school days and have your carpets and floors professionally cleaned, especially with the holidays right around the corner!”

A sparkling clean home is also extremely important if you are considering putting your house on the market at any time in the near future.

Are You Doing Your Part to Conserve Energy and Help the Environment?

The movement toward green energy is picking up momentum across the country and around the world. In fact, it was the appeal of bringing a clean energy option to their community that convinced Tyler and Alicia Uebelhoer to open Buffalo Solar Solutions Inc. in 2015.

“While we are huge advocates of solar energy, we realize that solar is not an option for everyone,” said Alicia. “Some homes may not be a good fit for solar, and we certainly understand that. But, there are many other small steps that individuals and families can take to do their part to help save the planet.”

Restaurant Owners Turn to Sure Step to Keep Employees on Their Feet

As you might imagine, the kitchen at your favorite local restaurant is a very busy, fast-paced environment. In addition to all the food preparation and cooking taking place behind the scenes, there’s a tremendous amount of foot traffic — everyone from chefs to dishwashers and house managers to the waitstaff.

Needless to say, on any given day a restaurant kitchen floor also sees its share of spills and splashes. Food, beverages, water and even cooking oil can end up underneath the feet of restaurant employees at any point in time, increasing the likelihood of slips, falls and injuries to staff.

As a result, slips, trips and falls due to wet and slippery conditions are among the greatest kitchen concerns. For restaurant owners, it’s an ongoing battle to keep workers healthy and safe.
