Experience Audubon’s Adult Day Camp, September 20-23

Jamestown, NY – You are invited to come to the Audubon Nature Center for three mornings of learning, laughter, and exploration at Adult Day Camp.

You will explore life under the water in ponds, fall flowers, and learn more about all the amazing plants and animals that share the more than 600-acre preserve.

Adult Day Camp at the Nature Center will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, September 20, 22, and 23.

This intensive nature learning experience will be combined with fun and games, and there will be a lot going on.

The Nature Center is blessed with a crew of happy, talented naturalists who get excited about many different subjects. Each naturalist will choose topics they love teaching and create lessons around them that involve some indoor learning followed by hands-on experiences outside.

You will venture off the trails to see what it happening in some of the Center’s most unique areas. You might explore the Spatterdock Underworld and get a close-up look at the salamanders, snails, and odd slugs that live on the property. Or you might even play with nets to catch insects on the wing and underwater to learn about some of the seldom noticed creatures that share our world.

Activities will be inside and outside, regardless of the weather. Be prepared to walk at least half a mile and back for programs.

The fee is $80; $60 for Friends of the Nature Center.  Paid reservations are required by Friday, September 16. Stop by, call (716) 569-2345 during business hours, or use the online form by clicking on “Adult Day Camp” at www.jamestownaudubon.org.

Nature Center education programs are funded with support from the Carnahan Jackson Foundation, Jessie Smith Darrah Fund, Holmberg Foundation, Hultquist Foundation, and Lenna Foundation.

The Audubon Nature Center is at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, New York, and Warren, Pennsylvania. The building, with its collection of live animals, interactive exhibits and the Blue Heron Gift Shop, is open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-4:30 p.m. Sundays.  The grounds, including trails, gardens, picnic tables, arboretum, and Liberty, the Bald Eagle, can be visited from dawn until dusk daily.
