Ribbon-cutting Event to Open West Seneca’s New Outdoor Market on May 15

A ribbon-cutting event at approximately 3:45 p.m. Thursday, May 15, will mark the opening of West Seneca’s new Main Street Marketplace. Sponsored by the Western New York Federal Credit Union, the farmers’ and food producers’ market will feature nearly 30 vendors and local entertainment Thursday evenings through Sept. 4.

The event will take place on the grassy hill at the corner of Union Road and Main Street, next to West Seneca Town Hall. In the event of extremely wet conditions, the market will move within the park, into the parking lot immediately in front of the West Seneca Ice Rink.

Weather permitting, week one entertainment will include an appearance by members of the award-winning West Seneca West High School Marching Band from approximately 3:30 to 4 p.m. Dan & Leanne, the guitarist and lead singer of Rustic Radio, will perform from approximately 5:30 to 7 p.m. Several members of the Buffalo Bandettes Dance Team will also make a special appearance at the market!

Yelp Buffalo will occupy the market’s community table on May 15, and will hand out free reusable grocery bags while supplies last. WNY Federal Credit Union will also have a supply of free bags on hand for market customers.

Guests are invited to bring a blanket or chairs for their comfort. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on a leash. There will be no market on Thursday, June 26, due to West Seneca Community Days.
