JAMESTOWN – Joint Neighborhood Project will offer computer classes during April in cooperation with Prendergast Library and supported by funds from the New York State Library’s Adult Literacy Library Services grant program.

JNP will offer “Let’s Start with Computers” from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 5, 7, 12 and 14. The instructor is Kathy Collver of Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES.

Students will learn how to turn on and shut down a computer; manipulate a mouse; create, edit and save a document; cut, copy and paste; use e-mail; and search the Internet.

Ms. Collver said the class is designed for adults who need basic computer skills and can be “the answer for those who have been lost in the computer generation gap.”

Patty Perlee, executive director of the Joint Neighborhood Project, said her agency looks forward to serving adults who are looking for free computer instruction at a beginner’s level.

There is no charge for the classes. To register, call JNP at 664-7101, or visit the agency at 532 E. Second St., Jamestown, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on week days.
