Deadly Hunting Accident in Chautauqua County | News

HARMONY, N.Y. - A deadly accident this afternoon in Chautauqua County claimed the life of a 68-year-old Pennsylvania man.

It happened around 3:10 p.m. in the Town of Harmony, just west of Jamestown.

A concerned friend of Allen "Randy" Smith, of Butler, PA, reported to police that Smith had gone out hunting and had not been seen since.

Police say it appears that something broke on Smith's tree stand and he fell approximately 20 feet from the tree.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
