SWAT Team Called In to End Standoff in Chautauqua County
FRENCH CREEK, NY-- A standoff in the Southern Tier has ended peacefully.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Route 426 in the Town of French Creek Monday morning after a woman called her sister saying she felt threatened by a man inside the home.
Deputies called in the SWAT team and shut down Route 426 between Mann and Harrington Hill Roads.
The woman was able to leave the home unharmed.
The man, Gregory A. Johnston, 26, surrendered and is currently in custody. He's been charged with violating his parole and other warrants.
