Moslow Brothers Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Introduction of Buffalo-themed and Custom Products

Moslow Brothers, manufacturers of quality custom-crafted products for the award, recognition, engraving and gift industries, will celebrate 100 years of doing business in Buffalo in 2017. To celebrate their century long achievement, they are introducing a new line of Buffalo-themed items to their product list!

Located at 375 Norfolk Ave. in Buffalo, M.A. Moslow & Bro. Inc. was founded in Buffalo in 1917 by Martin Anthony Moslow, great-grandfather of current owner David Moslow. The business got its start manufacturing wood products for the U.S. Army during World War I. In 1930, David’s grandfather, Joseph Moslow, took over the company and began manufacturing wood furniture frames for another Buffalo-based business, the Kittinger Furniture Company. David’s father, Neal, guided the company into the awards and recognition industry in 1960.

Audubon Nature Center Awards Scholarship to Taylor West

Jamestown, NY – Every spring since 2003 the Audubon Nature Center Education Staff has raised scholarship funds through their Fledgling Birdathon. Participants look for as many species as possible over a 24-hour period, and generous supporters pledge an amount, either per species or in total. The end result is a $500 scholarship. 

The 2016 Ryan Exline Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Taylor West of Lakewood, New York.

The Ryan Exline Memorial Scholarship is named the in memory of one of its early recipients, a volunteer, intern, and nature-lover who donated countless hours of time and expertise to the Audubon Nature Center. A resident of Russell, Pennsylvania, Exline died in 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Scholarship applicants must be local residents pursuing a degree in the natural sciences. Recipients must be passionate about the natural world.

Infinity Seeks Volunteers & Sound Engineers for 13th Annual Local Music Showcase

Jamestown, N.Y. -----  Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc. is calling all volunteers and Sound Engineers to assist in the 13th Annual Local Music Showcase.

Local Music Showcase is an annual event hosted to raise much needed funding for music and arts instruction at the Infinity Center. The fundraiser, which is held throughout Downtown Jamestown, will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Over 50 local bands and musicians donate their time each year to help Infinity and 13 local venues will donate their space for the cause!

‘Marshall’ Scenes With Kate Hudson, Sterling K. Brown Filmed at Daemen’s Presidential Residence

AMHERST, N.Y. – Filming in the Buffalo Niagara region for “Marshall,” a legal thriller starring Chadwick Boseman as a young Thurgood Marshall, a future Supreme Court justice, was recently on location at Daemen College’s presidential residence, where scenes were shot for the new movie.

“We are thrilled and honored to have Daemen House selected as a location for a major motion picture that will bring national attention to the Western New York region,” said President Gary A. Olson. “To be a part of a production of this magnitude was a unique opportunity to showcase the college.”

Additionally, Infinity will be offering the following workshops: Kids’ Zone for students ages 3-6, two Film Workshops, and a Songwriting Workshop with Addison Moon.
