“Amazing Places” is Theme of Audubon Nature Center’s 2015 Calendar

JAMESTOWN, NY – It seems to be a given that most people never see the “wonders” that are close to home, some of the very spots that others travel great distances to visit.

The Audubon Nature Center has assembled a dozen amazing sites to visit right here in our “backyard” and highlights one every month in their 2015 Amazing Places Calendar – making it the perfect gift for yourself or for that impossible-to-buy-for person on your holiday shopping list.

Audubon Senior Naturalist Jeff Tome, who spearheaded the calendar’s creation, noted, “We live in a region of stunning natural beauty that often goes unexplored and unnoticed. ‘Amazing Places’ celebrates a different amazing place within 100 miles of Audubon every month. Waterfalls with eternal flames burning behind them, the Chautauqua Gorge, and beautiful vistas are just the beginning.”

Outdoors you can burn off some Thanksgiving dinner calories by walking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing the more than five miles of beautifully maintained trails. You can also visit Liberty, Audubon’s resident bald eagle.
