H&M recently announced it partnership with superstar Beyonce for its summer collection 2013. She will appear in TV as well and print as in featured pieces from H&M summer collection. The campiagn was shot on the tropical beaches of Nassau, Bahamas by photographers Inez & Vinoodh with the commercial being directed by Jonas Åkerlund.

The campaign introduces "Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M” and express the element of different emotions of women with the use of fire, water, air and wind. Beyonce work closely with H&M in-house design team infusing her personal style. The clothing will be available beginning May in H&M stores worldwide and online. The campaign features swimwear and beachwear. Beyonce will be featured wearing flowing sun dress, bodycon dress and bikinis which all are key pieces from the H&M summer collection 2013.

Planet Flop Fights Poverty with Soles

Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of poverty and collects used shoes to support micro-enterprise efforts to eradicate poverty. Sole4souls looks for companies in the apparel and footwear industry to partner with to battle for the lives of people in natural diasters and to combat poverty.

Soles4souls is partnering with Planet Flops who make flip flops made of natural rubber and from every one flipflop purchased one goes to provide footwear to an impoverish adult and/or child in developing nations. It’s called the “Buy one, Give One” campaign. Planet Flop also has the Buy one Plant program that plants a tree in the Brazilian rainforest for every pair of its flip flop sold on its website. Soles4Souls’ other two divisions, Clothes4Souls and Hope4Souls.

We all know that music and fashion goes hand in so it's no surprise to learn that this spring not only will you be able to listen to the music of American Idol you can dress like them too. Over the years the contestant’s fashion has evolved with the help of Designer Tommy Hilfiger’s who’s on board for the show serving as its image consultant. LF USA’s MESH division is designing the line that is set to produce an updated Americana style collection.  Kohl’s stores will be debuting the line “Authentic Icon" this April in the department store’s junior and young men’s departments and be available for sale through June.

United Arts Appeal Announces Grant Opportunities

JAMESTOWN, NY – The United Arts Appeal has announced its Projects Pool grants for Chautauqua County artists and organizations in 2011.  

In making the announcement, UAA President Rick Davis noted, “The United Arts Appeal is continuing to allocate a portion of the funds raised through its annual campaign for grants for artist career development and artistic projects that benefit the cultural life of Chautauqua County.” 

Grants up to $500 are available to organizations and to individual artists in all disciplines. 

Eligible organizations must have non-profit status and may include libraries, municipalities, churches and other community groups.
