Talking Phone Book ‘Snowflake Festival’ at Audubon, Saturday, Feb. 5

Jamestown, NY – Planning is underway for the Audubon Center and Sanctuary’s annual Talking Phone Book Snowflake Festival on Saturday, February 5, 2011.

“The weather looks to be cooperating for great outdoor events this year,” said Dee Marlinski, Audubon’s Special Events Manager. “Outside, festival-goers can snowshoe, cross-country ski, see Siberian Huskies perform kick sled demos, take sleigh rides, watch camping and cooking demonstrations, bring their own equipment for sledding, and learn about Liberty, Audubon’s non-releasable Bald Eagle.”

Inside there will be exhibits, children’s crafts, bluebird houses to build, a Chinese auction, programs on owl ecology and birds of prey, face painting, and demonstrations of tapestry weaving and yarn spinning, weaving and dying.
