Audubon Blue Heron Gift Shop Participating in Small Business Saturday

Jamestown, N.Y. – The Blue Heron Gift Shop at Audubon Community Nature Center (ACNC) is participating with the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Saturday on November 25, 2017.

As long as supplies last on Saturday and after, when your purchase comes to more than $50, you will receive a free Shop Small canvas tote bag.

You may be surprised at the range of items you can choose from. You will find everything from nature-related books and field guides, adult coloring books and nature journals to t-shirts, polo shirts, and jackets.

Now is a good time to purchase bird feeders and Conewango Blend birdseed, specially formulated for our local feathered friends.

You will also want to check out the glasses, travel mugs, puppets, puzzles, distinctive jewelry, notecards and stationery, handcrafted walking sticks, locally-made soaps, and more. You may not be able to resist one of soft, furry animal hand puppets.

The Nature Center’s year-round hours are now 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays.

While you are at Audubon, you are invited to walk the trails and visit Liberty, the non-releasable Bald Eagle. There is no charge for outdoor activities, and admission is always free to explore the Blue Heron Gift Shop.

Sundays are free admission days for the Nature Center, where you can enjoy displays of local reptiles and amphibians, plus tanks of fish. Other indoor exhibits include Frogs, Energy, and Pollination. There is also seating to observe a beautiful view of birds, chipmunks, squirrels and sometimes even deer at the birdfeeders.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. To learn about the many programs offered at ACNC, call (716) 569-2345 during business hours or visit auduboncnc.org.

Audubon Community Nature Center builds and nurtures connections between people and nature by providing positive outdoor experiences, opportunities to learn about and understand the natural world, and knowledge to act in environmentally responsible ways.
